Why do weddings cost so much?

We all understand weddings can be expensive. There’s so much to organise to make your day perfect, and it seems that when the word ‘wedding’ is mentioned, suppliers add an extra 0 to the price!

So why is that?

Because wedding shopping isn’t like going into your local shop and picking out the same items as everyone else!

It’s your wedding, so every supplier will make everything bespoke to you.

Your dress will be altered to your exact measurements, your flowers will be arranged exactly how you want them, your cake will be made exactly how you like it, and your musician will play songs that you have picked out and will match the vibe of your day.

Now I’m not an expert at all wedding suppliers, so let’s talk a little more about your musician…

Becoming a professional musician takes decades of practice! Most musicians first pick up their instrument when they’re 6 or 7 years old (even younger for some!) and they practice every day, go to lessons once a week, and orchestra, band and choir practice 3 times a week, and more…

And they do this for years!

And then most will study music at university, or a performance conservatoire, or join a professional ensemble, and will continue to hone their skill for the rest of their life!

So when you’re hiring a musician, you’re not just hiring them for that hour during the ceremony…

You’re hiring them because they’ve dedicated their life to becoming the best musician they possibly can be!

Personally, I started performing at weddings because I love to share with others in the special moments of their life, and fill those moments with the most beautiful music I can possibly create.

And for my couples, I work with them to help select the perfect music for their day, we chat about their plans for the day, and I tailor the music to suit the energy on the day and always strive to perform every song to the highest possible standards!

Music will become one of the most memorable parts of your day

Make sure you create the perfect soundtrack to those memories!
